Baitadi- The death toll in the Baitadi jeep accident has reached four after one person who was injured in the mishap died on the way to the hospital.

According to police, three out of nine injured in the accident are in critical condition.

Police Inspector Lokraj Joshi, spokesperson at Baitadi District Police Office, said the jeep carrying police personnel met with an accident at Patan Municipality-4, Thum along Dashrathchand Highway on Monday morning, killing three Nepal Police personnel on the spot.

Chief District Officer Suresh Panthi said a helicopter of the Nepal Army airlifted two injured persons to Kohalpur for treatment.

According to police, the jeep that was returning after delivering ballot boxes to the district headquarters skidded off the road and fell some 300 metres down.
